Q. Who is responsible for administering Great Websites for Kids (GWS)?
A. The Great Websites for Kids Committee of the Association for Library Service to Children administers this site. They are responsible for recommending, evaluating, and selecting sites; in addition, they level and write annotations for chosen sites, and categorize them appropriately. The committee also maintains the GWS site, re-evaluating the sites included, removing dead links, updating URLs, and deleting sites when necessary.  

Q. How do I submit my website for consideration?
A. To have your website considered, complete and submit the online suggest-a-site form.

Q. What are the terms and criteria for selection to the Great Websites for Kids list?
A. Please see the Selection Criteria before submitting your site for consideration.

Q. Do you have any resources to help parents maneuver the internet with their children?

Q. How often are new sites added to Great Websites for Kids?
A. The GWS Committee selects additional sites to include three times per year, usually added to the website in June, September, and December.

Q. How often does the Great Websites for Kids Committee do maintenance on the site?
A. The entire site is reviewed and updates are made twice a year, usually in June and December.

Q. My site has been named a Great Website for Kids by ALSC. How can I request the "A Great Website for Kids" badge to display on my winning site?
A. To request a badge for your winning site, please use the online Badge Request Form.
